Mesothelioma is a rare cancer caused primarily by exposure to asbestos. Mesothelioma is cancer of the mesothelium, the thin layer of tissue that lines the area around the heart, the chest cavity, and the abdominal cavity, as well as the outer surface of most of the organs.Veterans comprise approximately 30 percent of all mesothelioma diagnoses due to asbestos-contaminated products that were used by the military, primarily by the Navy, from the 1930s through the 1970s. Pleural mesothelioma can be treated with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. Mesothelioma life expectancydepends on a number of factors .  Veterans with an asbestos-related illness may apply for Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits.

 Michigan's Money Quest-

is the State holding on to money that belongs to you?  Every year, companies are required to turn over millions of dollars in unclaimed funds and safe deposit box contents to Michigan's unclaimed property division.  The money is held by the State until the owner, or an heir, comes forward to claim it.  No fee is charged by the State of Michigan for this service, EVER.  If you are contacted by a "fee finder" or an "heir finder", they will offer to assist you in claiming this property but will charge you to do it.  This procedure is something most people can complete on their own, without having to pay for assistance.  Use the link above to search under your name (keep in mind, businesses can also have funds to claim, so search under your company's name, organizations you belong to, etc).  If you've had addresses in any other state, click here to bring up a map-- then just click on the state you'd like to search and you will go to that state's unclaimed property web site.

What you may find: bank accounts, insurance policies, stocks/mutual funds, utility deposits, paychecks, etc.  Good luck!
